I am a Lecturer at National Taiwan Normal University, teaching Data Science and Computer Programing. My research with Aylwin and Cathy at Academia Sinica focuses on developing and applying unsupervised learning algorithms to identify sub-groups of complex diseases, a baby step towards precision medicine. We are also developing generative models for genetic data with the aim to increase the sample size of underrepresented groups and rare diseases. On top of that, I continue to collaborate with Amy, my advisor at College of William & Mary, in analyzing the automobile industry consumer preferences and market trends.

Before I got my feet wet in research, I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music, where I focused on jazz improvisation and music business. To this day, I still do music and I am working on a problem that has been bugging me for quite a while, somewhere at the intersection of musicology, algorithms, combinatorics, and optimization.
