故事大綱：

Marina’s father was planning to let Marina marry Wind on a midsummer’s day, but she already has a beloved man, Ken. In order to be together, they decided to run away, they were to meet in the forest at midnight. Marina told her best friend, Fantine, about this. Because Fantine likes Wind, and knowing Wind likes Marina, she decided to tell him this news. At midnight, the four of them all met in the forest, Ken and Wind first had a fight over Marina. Then a magical thing happened, Wind and Ken seemed to like Fantine all of a sudden. They fought again, but this time for Fantine. Then the magical thing happened again. Ken is back in love with Marina, and Wind likes Fantine. So the couples got married, and the night they had just been through was just like a dream to them.

On a midsummer’s day, Marina’s father plans to let his daughter marry Wind, but unfortunately Marina already has a beloved man, Ken.

In Marina’s house…

Marina is sitting in the garden, feeling really awful. Ken comes in.

Ken: (at the gate) Marina darling, I’ve come to take care of your pretty garden…

Marina: (jumps up, run towards Ken) Oh! Ken, dear! Take me away! I don’t want to live in this cruel place anymore!

Ken: Wo wo… What’s up?

Marina: It’s that Wind guy, he asked daddy if he could marry me, and…and…

Ken: Ah…your father said yes…

Marina: Yes, yes…Now, Ken, please take me away…I’ll go wherever you go!

Ken: Alright. Tonight at midnight, let’s meet in the forest at the stone table.

Marina: Yes, let’s do!

Ken: (holds hand with Marina) I’ll see you tonight my dear one, goodbye for now.

Marina: Goodbye. (let go of Ken’s hand)

Ken walks out, Marina walks into the house.

Wind comes out of Marina’s house, Fantine is about to go in…

Wind: (speaking into the house) Okay, I’ll come by at dinner time, thanks again Mr. Lee, goodbye.

Fantine: Hi, Wind! What brings you here?

Wind: (looking really please) Hello Fantine, guess what?! I’m going to marry Marina, her dad agrees!

Fantine: What? (looking depressed) So soon?

Wind: Why that face? Shouldn’t you congratulate me?

Fantine: Why…? Yes, of course. Congratulations…

Wind: Well, I’ll see you around. (walking towards the gate)

Fantine: Yeah, okay…bye… (watch Wind go out the gate, then went into the house)

Marina is sitting in her room writing a letter to her father, telling him she wouldn’t marry Wind, and she’ll go with Ken. Then in comes Fantine…

Fantine: Marina! I just saw Wind, he said…

Marina: (stop writing her letter) Oh, that beast!

Fantine: So it’s true? What about Ken then?

Marina: I’m not going to let this awful thing happen to me. Fantine, listen. I’m going to run away with Ken tonight, we’re meeting at the stone table. I’m only telling you this cause you’re my best friend. You won’t tell, will you?

Fantine: (a little shock.) What? Of course I won’t tell, but are you sure about that?

Marina: My mind has never been clearer. He’s the one for me, and I’ll follow him anywhere.

Fantine: Well, I don’t think this is a good idea, but I wish you good luck all the same. Fantine walks down stage, and Marina walks down from the other side.

Midnight, in the forest…

Marina: Phew… finally I’ve got here. (look at her watch) There are still a few minutes, I’ll hide and surprise Ken when he comes. (hide under the table)

In Fantine’s house...

Fantine is sitting in her room, thinking, and then Wind came barging in.

Wind: Fantine! This is terrible!

Fantine: What? What happen?

Wind: It’s Marina! She’s gone! Her father just told me she went away with this Ken guy! Who does he think he is!?

Fantine: I know where they went…

Wind: Where? Tell me! You’re always like a sister to me, so please do tell.

Fantine: (looking straight into Wind’s eyes) A sister…?

Wind: Yes that’s right, now would you kindly tell me where my bride is?

Fantine: Well, she went into the forest, she’s to meet Ken at the stone table.

Wind: What!? Thanks a lot Fantine! You’ve always been nice to me. (walk towards the door)

Fantine: That’s because I like you!!!

Wind: (stop dead) What? What was that? Oh, I see, a brother-sister love…

Fantine: No no, I do really like you!

Wind: (feeling awkward) Yeah… right. I’m going to find Marina. (run away fast)

Fantine: Wind, wait for me! (run after him)

Back in the forest…

Ken finally arrives…Marina is asleep under the table.

Ken: (run towards the table) Sorry I’m late, Marina, I… (doesn’t see her) Marina? Where are you, darling?

Wind arrives… Ken stands still, and looks at Wind.

Wind: (run towards the table) Marina!! Where are you, my bride? (see Ken, and then stop shouting)

Ken: Your bride? No, I won’t let you have her! She’s mine.

Wind: Yours? Ha! You think you could stand against me, little gardener boy?

Both of them start shoving each other. Fantine arrives…

Fantine: (Run towards the table.) Wind! Wait up! (Seeing the fight.) Oooh… be…

Wind and Ken bump into a tree, a magic tree, and both of them are knock out.

Fantine: …careful…that’s going to hurt. (Run towards them.) Wind? Wind! Are you OK? (Turn around.) Ken! Wake up!

Marina is awake, she come out of the table…

Marina: Oh my…I’ve slept too long…I wonder where…(seeing Fantine and the boys on the floor.) What happened here?

Fantine: Oh, they were fighting over for you, and then they bumped into this tree here, and then they are unconscious. Come and help!

Marina: Ken! Ken! Wake up, dear! Come on we need to go!

Fantine: Oh! I think Wind is awake! Wind! Wind!

Wind: Oh, my head… what happened? (seeing Fantine, look at her for a few seconds) My love! You’re the one! (hold Fantine’s hand)

Fantine: What the…?

Ken: Oh, I feel sick… (Looking straight, see Fantine, look at her for a few seconds.)

Marina: Ken! You’re awake! Ken? Hello? (Waves her hand in front of him.)

Ken: (Not looking at Marina.) Go away, Marina, I don’t like you anymore. It’s Fantine I love.

Marina: What? But Ken, darling… (Starts to cry.)

Ken: (Ignoring Marina, and then speak to Wind.) Get away from her! I’m the one for Fantine! (Hold Fantine’s other hand.)

Wind: (Look at Ken.) Are you sure? I don’t think she likes you. (Pull Fantine behind him.)

Ken: (Pull Fantine to his side.) That’s because she hasn’t got a chance to know me better!

Wind: Wanna fight!?

Ken: Alright! And the winner gets Fantine! (Let go of Fantine.)

Wind: Deal!

So both of them start shoving again… Marina stop crying, pull Fantine beside her…

Marina: What did you do?

Fantine: Nothing! I didn’t do anything! They are not themselves.

Marina: Stop it you two! (Seeing both the boys bump into the tree again.) Oooh…Ken!! (Run forward.)

Wind and Ken are unconscious again.

Fantine: Not again! That’s what happened when I got here. (Run forward too.)

Marina: Ken? Ken!

Fantine: Wind!

Ken: (open his eyes, see Marina first.) Hi Marina, sorry I’m late…

Marina: Oh you’re back! You’re my Ken again! (Hold his hand)

Wind: What’s all the noise…(open his eyes, see Fantine) Fantine, do you still like me?

Fantine: Why? Yes…

Wind: Then would you marry me?

Fantine: What about the arrangement with Marina?

Wind: I’ll tell her father to cancel the wedding. So will you marry me? (Kneel, look into Fantine’s eyes.)

Fantine: Oh! I do! I do! Marina! Did you hear that! You don’t have to run away now!

Marina: Yes! Yes! Ken, we can be together now!

Ken: (Kneel down.) Marina, will you marry me?

Marina: Of course!

So the two couples went back, and got married. That night was just like a dream to them, so they called it a midsummer night’s dream. And they lived as great friends and true lovers forever and ever.
